Malaysia's Next Generation: Don't expect too much from them

"Today's kids, tomorrow's leaders" has always been the theme for Swan City Toastmasters' annual Youth Leadership Camp in Sibu. Back then, I was still extremely young when it was started so I didn't have the slightest idea of it's meaning. Now if you think the words of that theme is true for Malaysia, please do think twice. While it is true that today's kids will be tomorrow's leaders, they are nothing like the leaders you have tried to turn them into. Nowadays, the average Malaysian kid of any age would frequently spend his free time in a cybercafe, playing DotA, MAT or some other overrated game.

As I have already expressed this issue many times, Malaysia's next generation is doomed to fail unless by some miracle, every single one of th

ese kids makes the decision to change themselves for the greater good. It is apparent that none of these kids can handle the truth at all. You might remember a confrontation I had with one Brian Liong from the Merdeka district in Sibu which was caused by a spoof I made based on Namewee's "Siti Insyah Sucks Bananas. NAH!" music video. macks them hard in the face, they'll cry and attempt to flame you with an incoherent amount of Engrish and BM acronyms and those who follow my "trolling" on CiBMall have already witnessed that many times.

And to make things worse for Malaysia, being an Internet Tough Guy™ has certainly become some sort of local trend. Not just in the Internet, but also in real life. You have a lot of kids these days, dyeing their hair whenever possible in order to look "cool", then you have kids t41p1ng l13k d1s, the violent threats and of course, the now -infamous "o0o" line. Oh, and did I forget to mention the fact that when they're in doubt, they can only call in their pathetic friends?

The game is rigged. The arrogance and ignorance of the younger generation has yielded it's results. Approximately 69% of the next generation is about to "berjuang" into the pithole while they wonder where they went wrong in the past for the rest of their lives because everytime someone points them to the right path, they resolutely refuse to take that path and in the end, it all comes down to this.

Either kill or be killed. If you refuse to kill the monster inside you, then you sir, are doomed to fail, just like the rest of the failures that are to become the next generation.

Now for those who were wondering wether I abandoned this blog or not....
No, I did not. I just have a lot of unpublished articles and this is the very article that will make the first blog of November as of Saturday, Nov 13, 2010. So anyway, straight to business as usual.

The end-of-year holidays are about to begin again and more SPM candidates are about to discover their futures. In the end, the majority of Malaysia's next generation is still going to fail. It doesn't matter if they've scored straight As in their SPM or STPM. They're still going to fail in the end. How so, you might ask. Let us take a look at the past. Not to dwell on it, but to see where we went wrong.


You see, most schools in Malaysia, if not all, discourages creativity and innovation. Sure, they do not know it but all the same, the fact remains that they are still discouraging creativity and innovation among the younger generation. When you're working on a school project, the data that you must include in the folio is already fixed. You can only change the names and the type of data in it. In the end, every single project that is examined by the Ministry of Education is more or the less the same. Just different districts, different terrain, different types of moral values and so on. There's just too much spoonfeeding involved. The only creativity I see is when it comes to languages in the examinations. Even then, there's still very little creativity involved in it. In fact, its just downright Communist. Why? Because you're forced to write about topics that are fixed by the person who prepared the exam papers. I don't care if I have scored straight As in every single English exam I took, the fixed subjects still limits the amount of creativity that is put into the exams. In the end, you graduate out of college or university and spend the rest of your lifetime behind a desk, doing the paperwork and all that other fancy crap. You're not going to achieve anything out of that except for a decent paycheck. Even then, paychecks in Malaysia aren't decent at all.


Now, all of this leads to another question. WHO is the one to take the blame?
To me, it looks like a 50/50 situation. Half the blame has to go to the government and the other half has to go to our parents for it is they who raised and trained the younger generation. Let's look at the government first.


As I have stated above, creativity is mostly discouraged in schools. You're taught to take notes and memorize the entire exercise book and textbook. That's it. That's all you need to do to pass your exams. No, you can't question the education system because if you do, you'll only be seen as an undisciplined faghat. Seriously, why am I studying about Bani-Abbasiyah when it isn't even related to my ancestors? I can tolerate an overview of the history of Islam and how it came into Asia but how it entered Europe? No thanks, sir.

In addition to that, most teachers discourage their students from using their spare time on their past time like singing, acting, and so on. To add insult to injury, the schools do not provide any courses for music and acting classes, denying the students the chance to show their true talents. There are some who are meant to sit behind desks but what about the others? Are you going to just neglect their needs? A school is a place that is created to build a successful young generation. No, it should not be used just for academics, but to be used to train the younger generation in other skills like public speaking, singing, acting and dancing. There is a reason why America's entertainment industry is still flourishing to this day. Even I have to give Justin Bieber some credit for being able to be recognized internationally whereas our own bands like Pop Shuvit can only make it as far as the Philippines and Indonesia. That sir, is just about it. Schools place too much emphasis on academics. To top it off, each individual has about 9-12 subjects to study in school and that sir, is too much even for a Grade-A student. In the end, those who actually study their lives off lose their identity. Those who are neglected on the other hand, become undisciplined individuals who create problems for the school's administration. Having a very small amount of decency in their attitude, they end up in the pithole when they turn eighteen. What's more? The teachers demand no mistakes. What they want is perfection. Without mistakes, how are we supposed to learn and think out of the box? Ever heard of the line "No mistakes means no effort"?


And again, the parents of the younger generation have to take some of the blame too. How so, you might ask. Let's take a look at your lives shall we?

You see, when you were just an infant, you received plenty of encouragement and love from your family. There was always some praise in your actions. But suddenly, all that was taken away from you. Praise was replaced with criticism and canes. Everyone expected you to excel in your academics. Eventually, you began to pull yourself away from your parents. Whenever you prove them wrong, they accuse you of smart-mouthing.

Can you see where the parents went wrong now? However, it doesn't end here?


All of the above happened because as you grew up, your parents did not see the need to pay attention to you anymore. They grew wary of you, preferring to focus on their jobs for the money. A lot of parents in Asia are like that and there's no denying that. In the end, what happens is that they spend very little time with their children because they don't have the time to do so. Or at least, that's what they claim. The truth is; they do have the time to spend with their kids after work. However, they prefer to spend it on their friends or their own past time instead of trying to understand their kids which is why most of us have the difficulty of telling the difference between reality and fantasy. We see all that crap in movies and we think its reality when it is in fact, FAKE. However, our parents are usually "too busy" to educate us about that subject. Like schools, they also put too much emphasis on academics. Even a tiny drop in their grades can instigate the wrath of a parent in some extreme cases. Because of the fact that they do not spend enough time with their kids, they have a lot of difficulties when it comes to understanding the minds of their children which can lead to a lot of disastrous misunderstandings. Ever wondered why your kid hides everything from you?

Parents should also give their kids some room to express their feelings, not just reprimand their kids for everything they say and praise them when they deserve some credit in their actions or words.

To put it bluntly, parents do not see the point of spending their time with their children because they were not raised that way. They put too much emphasis on their financial issues which causes them to draw themselves away from their kids without realizing it while the concerned youngster does the same. Seriously, don't you get it at all? Haven't you noticed that your child hides so many things from you? They just don't know how to open their minds to their parents because they're afraid of getting reprimanded! This is the problem with most Asian parents. Can't you see that the reason why you can't understand your kids is because of the fact that you don't spend enough time with them? But nooooo! Most of the parents in Asia don't see the point of it and what do we have? Kids who have no decency at all, expecting to be spoonfed by mommy and daddy for the rest of their lives, no-lifers who dye their hair, wear "punk" hairstyles and hang out in cybercafes all day long, playing DotA and getting into gangsterism. Those who manage to get results good enough for UiTM at the very least, end up behind a desk for the rest of their lives because they were not taught to think out of the box. They were only taught to follow the rules. That's it.

It is time to change already. This is exactly how Malaysia failed. We don't have enough leaders to lead the country towards success. Any dream is usually discouraged by everyone. You'd be labeled as a psychotic, crazy person while your dreams will be seen as a waste of time by teachers and parents alike. GOD DAMN IT. CAN YOU SEE WHY NOW? We do not have enough innovative ideas which is how our industry failed on an epic scale. LOOK AT AMERICA. Yes, their economy is getting fucked up and the White House is corrupt but their entertainment industry is still alive to this day. Why? Because they taught their kids to always think outside the box. Sure, Justin Bieber's a fag but I still have to give him some credit for being recognized internationally whereas Siti Nurhaliza is just recognized in specific countries in SEA only. Unless you want your next generation to be zombies and undisciplined fuckers, you will have to start making changes and raise your kids the right way instead of just sticking to the status quo because believe it or not, the status quo does not work anymore.

Next Generation Failure

Welcome to Malaysia. We have Nasi Lemak, curry chicken, Nasi Beriyani, roti canai and Char Kueh Teow. We have the greatest Prime Minister in the world and his name is Najib. We manufacture powerful cars like Proton and Perodua and sell them at an extremely affordable price. We are a peaceful, multi-cultural country. Why? Because our races are united as one, single Malaysia! We have Lee Chong Wei, who plays badminton and wins medals for us and we have our own F1 team! Our democracy is flourishing, our government is just and free from corruption, our streets are clean and beautiful and the USA can kiss Malaysia's ass.

While it is true that we have our own F1 team, it still fails to win any prizes at all. Our government is not just. If anything, it is one of the world's worst governments. Sure, Lee Chong Wei is winning medals for us but do you think the BN will continue supporting his actions? No. Why? Because he's a Chinese! What more do I need to say?

Our cars are crap, there's no denying that. We produce some of the world's worst entry-level cars in history. In fact, Proton's car designs are mere rip-offs from Mitsubishi. While I give Proton credit for the first Saga being more reliable than most of the other cars manufactured today in Malaysia, selling it for more than 20 years is just a big fat no in my book. Other than the Saga, Proton's cars are just ugly, recycled versions of Mitsubishi. In fact, Perodua and Proton is so bad, even Jeremy Clarkson hates them!

And oh please, don't get me started with the democracy in here. If anything, there is no such thing known as democracy in here. All of the opposition party's speeches were banned from being broadcasted on TV because of Barisan Nasional's ego. Any amount of criticism directed against the government or the BN can get you arrested. In fact, I can get arrested for writing this shit.

If you think our education curriculum's standards is great, think again. I have only one question to ask you which will immediately obliterate any retard who says that Malaysia's academic standards is good. If our education system is so damn good, why do we have so many students going overseas to further their studies?

And the kids these days.... they just can't accept the cold truth. You try to give them the truth about Malaysia and they'll go "OMG MALAYSIA IS TEH BESTZ0R!!! FUCK J00!!!!!111". Seriously, grow the fuck up and look at yourselves. Do you think Najib will give a fuck about the Chinese's rights? Do you think he'll give a fuck about the natives like the Ibans, the Kadazans and god knows what else? Najib is a power hungry monarchist, there's no denying that. And guess what? In the future, he'll be claiming that the Malays are the rightful owners of Malaysia! Oh, and let's not forget about his recent bribery.

And what have we ever achieved after more than 50 years of independence? Lee Chong Wei and his hax0red badminton skills? Sorry, but we're losing medals at badminton too due to the fact that Lee is getting old. WCG? Sorry, but Malaysia never made it past the first round. Moto GP? Nope. Soccer? Don't make me laugh. Ping Pong? Last time I checked, it is still dominated by the guys from the People's Republic of China.

Think twice before you start bullshitting around. Just because I criticize the country does not necessarily mean that I am a racist. Fuck you, goodbye, the end.

HIStory: Do we even have them?

When we were young, we used to go outside and play childish games like Hide & Seek, Tag.... well, you get the idea. In fact, this includes the teenagers and back in the 80s and 70s, our parents as well. Back then, Windows didn't even exist. Everyone was still using DOS command prompts and typewriters. In fact, computers didn't become popular in offices until the mid-90s when Microsoft revolutionized the modern computer industry with Windos 95, 98 and Millenium Edition. Back then, it was still a premium luxury to own a computer at home due to the economic recession in 97. In fact, most of us didn't have any computers in our homes until 2004-2005. Before that, we went to cybercafes for a game of Need For Speed or Counter Strike. Back then, we didn't have Duo Cores, let alone P4s. I'm sure some of my readers here will still remember their days on a 486HZ processor but for many of us, we won't even get the chance to see a 486."Everyone was still using DOS command prompts and typewriters"

In today's world, computers have become more revolutionized than they were in the days of the 486. It has become normal for a person, even in Indonesia, to have a computer in his house. We have become spoilt by the variety of games that are available in the market. Back in the 80s and early 90s, our parents were playing Tetris, Zelda and Secret of Mana on a Nintendo. Today, we're playing Splinter Cell, Grand Theft Auto, Company of Heroes and Crysis. If the average modern teenager were to go back to playing something like The Ninja Warriors, he'd get bored of it within 5 minutes.

Meanwhile in offices, the paperwork is now being done by computers. Gone are the days when we had to use the typewriter to type out contracts while worrying about the typewriter itself jamming like lulz. Now we have computers which allows you to erase your mistakes without wasting any resources at all. That, and you can just stick your company's logo onto that piece of paper you call a contract with a few clicks from the mouse. Oh, and did I forget to mention that you don't have to worry about jams?

All of this makes me wonder what we're going to tell our kids when we have them. You see, the average student will sit in front of the computer during his free time, playing games like Call of Duty 4 while the average adult would most likely be typing out letters in front of a computer. I won't deny that I am no different. It was either playing a game, making kids cry on the Internet or doing the accounting. To make things worse, the music industry in today's society has turned into a place for wannabes. Fucking wannabes like Big Bang, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are popping out everywhere. What happened to the 80s and 90s(not to mention the early 2000s) when we had real artists like Westlife, Michael Jackson, Eurythmics, N-Sync and Duran Duran? In here, you're either a Grade-A student, spending his free time reading his textbooks and notes, or a Grade-E student, spending his time in front of a computer screen, playing DoTA all day long. There is no such thing as a Grade-B student who knows how to arrange his time.

And again, all of this crap today makes me wonder what I'm going to tell my kids about my childhood when I become all grown-up, being married and of course, having kids. Am I going to tell them about the days when I played Call of Duty 4? Am I going to tell them about these Grade-A students who end up behind the desk for the rest of their lives, doing the same thing everyday? Am I going to tell them about the wannabes like Justin Bieber and Big Bang?

Malaysia: The next generation is FUCKED!

1Malaysia was the ultimate concept of racial unity which was formed by Najib back in 2009. At that time, I was still studying in Sibu while working as a part-time technician. Everyone was parroting the 1Malaysia concept like ignorant twats(Oh wait, THEY ARE!) except for me and a few people. When our little community was asked to give a reason on why we weren't waving the Malaysian flag on National Day, everyone who questioned us was offended(more liek butthurt) by our answers.

Now, unless you know anything about Malaysian politics, I would advise you to shut the fuck up. If you're not ready for the truth, go away. I'm not interested in reading your comments, bitching about me being proud, arrogant or whatever catches your fancy. As I have expressed it many times in my previous articles, 1Malaysia looks good, sounds good and feels good but it is only a mere illusion which is designed to continue the BN's rule of Monarchy and recent events just makes their intentions crystal clear. You can deny it all you want, calling me an overproud person whom the country doesn't need. The fact still remains that our country is heading for disaster and basically, you're asking me to kiss Najib's ass blindly even if he turns against the non-Malays.

Looks good, sounds good and feels good. Sadly, it's a LIE!

When you look at things from a neutral perspective, you'll notice that Najib is no different compared to Hitler. He executes or arrests anyone who dares to criticize him and the BN with the Internal Security Act. Oh, and please don't tell me that criticizing the nation is a danger to it's security. The Biased Government of Malaysia

(1) Of the five major banks, only one is multi-racial, the rest are controlled by Malays.

(2) 99% of Petronas directors are Malays.

(3) 3% of Petronas employees are Chinese.

(4) 99% of 2000 Petronas gasoline stations are owned by Malays.

(5) 100% all contractors working under Petronas projects must be of Bumis status.

(6) 0% of non-Malay staff are legally required in Malay companies. But there must be 30% Malay staffs in Chinese companies.

(7) 5% of all new intake for government police, nurses, army, are non-Malays.

(8) 2% is the present Chinese staff in Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), a drop from 40% in 1960.

(9) 2% is the percentage of non-Malay government servants in Putrajaya, but Malays make up 98%.

(15) At least 10 Chinese owned bus companies (throughout Malaysia in the past 40 years) had to be sold to MARA or other Malay transport companies due to rejection by Malay authorities to Chinese applications for bus routes and rejection for their applications for new buses.

(16) Two Chinese taxi drivers were barred from driving in Johor Larkin bus station. There are about 30 taxi drivers and three were Chinese in Oct. 2004. Spoiling taxi club properties was the reason given.

(17) 0 non-Malays are allowed to get shop lots in the new Muar bus station (Nov. 2004).

(18) 8000 billion ringgit is the total amount the government channeled to Malay pockets through ASB, ASN, MARA, privatization of government agencies, Tabung Haji etc, through NEP over a 34 years period.

(19) 48 Chinese primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.

(20) 144 Indian primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.

(21) 2637 Malay primary schools built from 1968 - 2000.

(22) 2.5% is government budget for Chinese primary schools. Indian schools got only 1%, Malay schools got 96.5%.

(23) While a Chinese parent with RM1000 salary (monthly) cannot get school textbook loan, a Malay parent with RM2000 salary is eligible.

(24) All 10 public university vice chancellors are Malays.

(25) 5% of the government universities’ lecturers are of non-Malay origins. This percentage has been reduced from about 70% in 1965 to only 5% in 2004.

(31) 25% of the Malaysian population was Chinese in 2004, a drop from 45% in 1957.

(32) 7% of the Malaysian population is Indian (2004), a drop from 12% in 1957.

(33) 2 million Chinese Malaysians have emigrated in the past 40 years.

(34) 0.5 million Indian Malaysians have emigrated overseas.

(35) 3 millions Indonesians have migrated to Malaysia and become Malaysian citizens with Bumis status.

(36) 600,000 Chinese and Indian Malaysians with red IC were rejected repeatedly when applying for citizenship in the past 40 years. Perhaps 60% of them had already passed away due to old age. This shows racism, based on how easily Indonesians got their citizenships compared with the Chinese and Indians.

(37) 5% - 15% discount for a Malay to buy a house, regardless whether the Malay is rich or poor.

(38) 2% is what new Chinese villages get, compared with 98% - what Malay villages got for rural development budget.

(39) 50 road names (at least) had been changed from Chinese names to other names.

(40) 1 Dewan Gan Boon Leong (in Malacca) was altered to another name (e.g. Dewan Serbaguna or something like that) when it was only officially used for a few days. The government tries to shun Chinese names. This example of racism occurred around 2000.

(41) 0 temples/churches were built for each housing estate. But every housing estate got at least one mosque/surau built.

(42) 3000 mosques/surau were built in all housing estates throughout Malaysia since 1970. No temples or churches are required to be built in housing estates.

(43) 1 Catholic church in Shah Alam took 20 years to apply to have a building constructed. But they were told by Malay authority that it must look like a factory and not like a church. As of 2004 the application still have not been approved.

(44) 1 publishing of Bible in Iban language banned (in 2002).

(45) 0 of the government TV stations (RTM1, RTM2, TV3) are directors of non-Malay origin.

(46) 30 government produced TV dramas and films always showed that the bad guys had Chinese faces, and the good guys had Malay faces. You can check it out since 1970s. Recent years, this has become less of a tendency.

(47) 10 times, at least, Malays (especially Umno) had threatened to massacre the Chinese Malaysians using May 13, since 1969.

(48) 20 constituencies won by DAP would not get funds from the government to develop. These Chinese majority constituencies would be the last to be developed.

(49) 100 constituencies (parliaments and states) had been racially re-delineated so Chinese votes were diluted for Chinese candidates. This is one of the main reasons why DAP candidates have consistently lost in elections since the 1970s.

(50) Only 3 out of 12 human rights items are ratified by the Malaysian government since 1960.

(51) 0 - elimination of all forms of racial discrimination (UN Human Rights) has not been ratified by Malaysian government since 1960s.

(52) 20 reported cases whereby Malay ambulance attendances treated Chinese patients inhumanely, and Malay government hospital staffs purposely delayed attending to Chinese patients in 2003. Unreported cases may be 200.

(53) 50 cases each year whereby Chinese, especially Chinese youths, are being beaten up by Malay youths in public places. Police reports may be checked to verify this, provided the police took the report, otherwise there will be no record.

(54) 20 cases every year whereby Chinese drivers who accidentally knocked down Malays were seriously assaulted or killed by Malays.

(55) 12% is what ASB/ASN got per annum while banks fixed deposits are only about 3.5% per annum.
